How to Apply & Wear Blush

.Pick a blush color that suits your complexion and overall coloring. Hues come in pink, coral, peach, bronze and other shades to highlight your skin tone and clothing. Match the color of your cheeks after some exercise to find your most natural blush shade.

.Buy blush in powder, cream or gel form. Use powder or gel for oily skin and cream blush for dry or normal skin. Purchase at least two shades, a lighter color for daytime and a darker shade for evening and party wear. Use a makeup brush to apply powder blush and your fingertip to spread a dab of cream or gel blush.

.Apply blush under your foundation for a more subtle look or over it for more dramatic color.

.Smile to find the “apples” of your cheeks while looking in the mirror. Begin in the center of your cheek and brush on the blush or spread it with your finger outward from your cheek to blend the color. For a more sophisticated look, suck in your cheeks and blend upward and outward. Always blend higher than your nostrils. Use a makeup sponge or tissue to blot away or blend excess blush.

.Finish by dusting with translucent powder to set the blush and help it wear longer.
