Which Eyeliner Styles Are Good for Which Looks?

Cat Eye
If you’re going to give your eyes the dramatic cat eye look, you want liquid liner. In fact, you probably want onyx black liquid liner. This -60s-reminiscent look is all about clean, crisp lines along the upper and lower lid of your eyes, with a sassy little upturned flair at the outer corner. The best way to achieve this smudge-free look is with a liquid liner that will go on smoothly. A soft eye pencil will create a sloppy take on a look that is based upon the idea of polish.

Smoky Eye
If you’re looking for a heavy smoky eye, you actually don’t even need to pick up a liner at all. Your eyeshadow will provide the emphasis here. Eyeshadow serves as a great liner when applied correctly – if you lightly wet your eyeshadow brush, dip it into shadow and apply in a thin line, it will provide a soft line of color that you can smudge accordingly. This also is a great introduction to people new to working with the concept of liner.

Natural Eye
Natural and makeup-free are two different concepts. A natural eye will let the beauty of your eyes’ color and shape stand out, but relies on cosmetics to showcase them to their highest potential. If you want to create a natural eye look, stick with a neutral-colored eye pencil. Pencil will let you lightly smudge the liner so that it becomes less obvious.

Funky Colors
If you want to line your eyes with lime green or an electric blue, you can utilize any liner style you’d like. Get creative and have some fun to see whether a liquid liner or pencil best suits your needs.

Wedding Eye Makeup Tips

When it comes to your wedding, eye makeup can be a tricky subject. Brides need to rely on makeup that will last all day. Plus, with tears of happiness that may or may not decide to make an appearance, no bride wants to deal with running mascara or eyeliner. Here are a few wedding eye makeup tips to help you get a perfect look that will last.

Lash extensions allow you to have long, gorgeous lashes – without the worry of your mascara running if you happen to get emotional on your special day. I used to look down on eyelash extensions because, honestly, I really liked my natural lashes and thought many of the sets of lash extensions looked fake. Nowadays, you can get lash extensions that look completely natural and blend with your real lashes. I finally tried extensions last year.

Let me tell you, I am absolutely sold. You can create just about any look you like. There are all sorts of lengths, shades, types and shapes. Just be sure to go to someone who has a lot of experience and can apply them correctly. And, for your bridal look, someone who can do more of a natural looking application. Also, we recommended you try them out a month or so before your wedding so you have time to get used to them beforehand.

There are a number of eye liners that will look beautiful for your wedding day makeup look. The point here is to choose wisely. Many liners fade quickly or wash away easily with just a little moisture. You want a liner that won’t budge. Quite a few eye liner formulas that will do the trick. A waterproof liner may be a good option. Or, if you know of a liner you love that doesn’t run, that may be your best bet.

How to Make Your Eyes Look Bigger?

Ever look at those pictures of celebrities before makeup and after? My favorite celebrity is Gwyneth Paltrow and I was thrilled one day to see her without makeup. Her eyes just disappeared. Yet in photos, she has luminous eyes. So what’s the secret?
There are actually several. To get huge eyes try these tricks:

Curl Eyelashes

If you don’t have naturally long, perfect eyelashes, curling them before applying mascara will really open up your eyes. You can actually curl lashes AFTER mascara is applied, as long as your mascara is dried (a good tip to know if you want to curl your lashes later in the day without removing your mascara). I usually blast the eyelash curler for 3 seconds with a hair dryer for extra staying power. Just test the metal to ensure it’s not too hot before you clamp down on your upper lash.

What to Do With the Bottom Lashes?

Many makeup experts avoid mascara on the lower lashes because they believe it actually closes up the eyes. This is true for some women, but for others, mascara and eyeliner on the lower lashes can make a dramatic difference. Try it out for yourself and see if you like it.
To apply mascara on lower lashes, hold the brush vertically, then sweep it back and forth. If you wear eyeliner on the lower lashes, try a pencil eyeliner, which tends to be softer. Then smudge the line with your finger so it looks more natural than a straight line.

Don’t Be Afraid of False Eyelashes

Individual false lashes are exotic, gorgeous and can look natural if applied correctly. Large cities offer “lash bars” in the hottest department stores. (Henri Bendel, Bergdorfs and more, for example) but I expect the counters at most department stores will have experts in false lashes.
Don’t want to go to department store? Drugstores carry false eyelashes. If they’re too long, you can trim them with scissors.

Why White Shadow is the Makeup Artist’s Secret

When I go out for the evening, I always put a bit of light eyeshadow right at the inside ridge of my eye, where the upper lid meets the bottom lid, near the tear duct. It’s amazing how that bit of white brightens my eyes and makes them look whiter. This is a old beauty secret of makeup artists and if you look closely at photos of celebrities on red carpets you can see that tell-tale white in the inside corner of their eyes.

Natural Make Up Tips

Beauty is the nature of every woman. Make up will add your beauty and grace. Do you want to change your style? Follow me! Here are some Natural Make Up Tips for you!

1—The first step in caring for skin externally, is cleansing, perpiration, grease, dust, stale make-up,dirt and bacteria all collect on your skin and must be removed completely.
2—Step in make-up is cleansing, soap and water removes most of the impurities but it does not remove make-up completely, hence cleansing required. Foundations and powders are designed to remain on the skin as long as possible. If you wear make-up during the day,the first step in cleansing your skin at night should be with a cleanser of some kind.
3—Cleansing cream, lotion, milk or just plain cold cream. The cleanser must be massaged into the skin with a light upward and outward movement, paying particular attention to the creases of the nose, under chin area, neck and ear lobes.
4—It is necessary that the cotton wool used for cleansing is moist. as dry cotton wool absorbs moisture from the skin. Repeat the cleansing process two or 3 times until the tissue is clean. The heavier the make-up you have been wearing, the more times you will have to cleanse your skin.
5—If your skin is too much greasy or blemished, you may follow your cleansing by washing with soap and water using a medicated soap and rinsing very thoroughly with clean water. the rest will be discussed in next chapter.
